Shop with a Cop Video

Aaron Hayes, Community Resource Officer at Sharonville Police Department, joins us for our September Business Talk to discuss Shop With A Cop! Aaron will explain to us what Shop With A Cop Program is all about and who is able to participate!

Princeton students are carefully selected and showered with an experience of a lifetime. The day of the event, a police officer in uniform goes to the selected students home and are picked up in a police car. They are given hygiene bags for their families and enjoy a local breakfast while building a trusting relationship. During this event, the students are provided with necessities such as a coat, gloves, and hat, along with a few items that the student gets to pick out.

How is the event funded? The Police Department accepts donations from local business owners and community members. Without donations, this program would not be what it is. Children may not get the items they need.

How to help? Cash donations are always accepted and strictly go to the event. If you would prefer to write a check, please mail to the Sharonville Police Assocation (memo line: Shop with a Cop) or drop off at the Police Department.  Donations of arts, crafts, and wrapping paper are also appreciated!

Why is this event special? It is not only special to the children and their families, but to the police department and its officers.

The most important piece that comes out of this is the relationship that is being built between the police, the community, and the students. The connection is the most important part along with helping those kids in need.

Copied!
